Well here at The Picture Framing Centre Blackpool we are specialist football shirt framers - we specialise in all types of shirt framing.

Firstly it is important to note that no two shirts are the same and The Picture Framing Centre treat each and every shirt on an individual basis in accordance with customers instructions after offering advice. on their football memorabilia and football shirt framing
All football shirts are carefully arranged,with either the front or the back on show(dependant on customers requirements) and attached to mountcard. A bare faced wooden shadow box is constructed into which the mounted football shirt is placed and secured in a manner that prevents the football shirt dropping moving or sagging.(We do NOT use staples nor glues to secure the shirt as this damages the shirt and reduces its value.We use a special technique used in the clothing and embroidery industry where a delicate but secure method of attachment is necessary).The purpose of the shadow box is that it serves to keep the shirt away from the glazing and also protects the football shirt.
The box is then attached to the frame moulding finished off with a bevel cut mount and glazed using either glass or perspex depending on the completed products size and weight.
The rear of the box frame is plated and secured with sturdy mdf then sealed with framers tape to keep dust and pollution out and also for a neat finish.
Dependant upon size and or weight the finished framed football shirt is strung ready for hanging.Alternatively hanging attachments are supplied in order for you to display the finished product on the wall.
Additional items can be included with the framed football shirt such as photographs ticket stubs,engraved plaque certificates of authenticity etc but be aware that if the shirt is framed fully on show (like the Blackpool Carbrini shirt pictured) that adding extras greatly increases the overall size and weight.Generally speaking though when additional items such as photographs ticket stubs certificates of authenticity etc are to be included with the framed football shirt then the shirt would be arranged in a half folded style.As a guide a completed framed football shirt measures around 38 x 33 inches ( 970mm x 840 mm) and is quite heavy.Please make sure you have adequate wall space on which to hang or attach the completed item !!!!!! shirt framing

A football shirt should always be framed in a manner that avoids the shirt touching the glass/glazing.This is why all the football shirts framed at The Picture Framing Centre are "box" framed.This method not only protects and preserves the football shirt in the frame but ensures it is displayed in a manner that looks both professional and pleasing to the eye as you are looking "into" the frame as opposed to "at it" thus giving the football shirt a deep "3 dimensional" look.
The end result is a shirt that appears to be "floating" in the frame.
Numerous framers will "frame" a football shirt in a "standard" frame ie - like framing a print or a certificate.
This means the shirt is touching the glass with the glass holding the shirt in place along with the backing board around which it is wrapped.
This can lead to moisture problems as air is not able to circulate around the framed football shirt is not best practice and is not recommended.
This is why all football shirts framed at The Picture Framing Centre are framed using a wooden shadow box to avoid such issues

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS
1. Simply decide which arrangement style frame design and mountcard colour you require.
2. Email us your requirement/instruction and we shall reply to confirm.
3. Then send us your shirt/s other items to be included within the frame along with payment by cheque payable to The Picture Framing Centre and we shall contact you once we recieve (please ensure you send your items postal insured as we cannot be responsible for any loss or damage prior to receiving them).
4. We then frame your shirt notify you once complete in order to arrange delivery and personally deliver it back to you. Around 1 hour prior to our arrival we shall telephone or txt you on your mobile.This approach means you need not spend the entire day at home waiting in.
You are also more than welcome to collect from our shop here in Blackpool
If you live in or around any of the areas listed here delivery will be a flat fee of just £25.00 (please note the price you pay is per delivery not per shirt so whether one framed shirt delivered or you have 5 shirt frames or 10 shirt frames delivered the delivery cost will be the same).So lets say you have 10 shirt frames delivered that is the equivalent of just £2.50 per shirt delivered!This we believe is very cost effective for you the customer.
